AussieTheatre.com is an interactive theatre and arts website servicing the Australian performing arts community and theatre going public.

Owned and run by Erin James and Matt Edwards, this multimedia online arts magazine covers music theatre, theatre, opera, cabaret and other art forms.

Our aim is to create a useful, informative and user-friendly online environment which fosters and supports an appreciation of artists and the Australian arts industry.

With up-to-date news, reviews, features and blog posts from a team of writers and contributors across the country, AussieTheatre.com is Australia’s leading theatre website.

Your Management Team

Erin James — Editor in Chief/Co-Director

Erin graduated from WAAPA in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Theatre and achieved her ATCL in voice, 2002. She also holds a Diploma of Education (Music) and has worked for the NSW Arts Unit as a drama/dance tutor and on the major events production team. A winner of the 2007 Bound For Broadway TDP Scholarship, Erin has performed in New York, New Zealand, Europe and Hong Kong as well as various tours in Australia. She made her professional music theatre debut in Fiddler On The Roof (2007 Australasian Tour) as Sprintze (Chava cover), and toured with the Australian Theatre of the Deaf in 2006. Other theatre credits include Cats 2008 — 2010 (cover to Jellylorum, Bombalurina, Demeter, Jennyanydots, Sillabub, Rumpleteaser, Tantomile/Coricopat and Grizabella), taking over the role of Jennyanydots for the Manila and Taiwan seasons. Erin is accredited as a sign language interpreter (Auslan), and is currently understudying the role of Fleck in Love Never Dies.

Matt Edwards — Co-Director/IT, Marketing and Business Manager

Matt earned a Commerce Degree from Deakin University, majoring in Marketing and Electronic Commerce, had a ‘real job’ for a while before giving it all up and running away to WAAPA. After graduating from the Musical Theatre course in 2006, Matt has worked extensively in the professional theatre world including playing Rum Tum Tugger during the Taiwan season of CATS (2010) and appearing in Opera Australia’s production of My Fair Lady (2008–2009). Matt is the founder of Emptyhead Designs — a web design company which specialises in creating websites and internet marketing solutions for Actors, Artists and Small Business. In 2010, Matt completed a Certificate in Web Design from Grenadi School of Design.
