My Fair Lady’s 60th Anniversary production of Lerner and Lowe’s iconic musical is currently playing in Brisbane’s QPAC Lyric Theatre as part of the Australian tour.

To mark this momentous occasion, producer John Frost has accomplished the most marvellous thing in bringing over Dame Julie Andrews to sit in the director’s chair, 61 years after she debuted the role of Eliza Doolittle in the original 1956 stage production.

In an interview conducted with Julie Andrews by producer John Frost, Julie remarked, “Coming back to it is wonderful. It was one of the great Broadway musicals but who knew that a story about a professor of phonetics and a cockney flower girl would be so popular?”

Bobbi-Lea, our Queensland correspondent was able to capture some of that interview as well as meet with the stars of the show. Watch the video to hear from Julie Andrews, Charles Edwards, and Anna O’Byrne, about this magnificent anniversary production.

My Fair Lady will play at the QPAC Lyric Theatre till April 30. Audio described performances will be presented on March 29 and 30, and a captioned performance will be on April 8. For more information, visit the My Fair Lady page on the QPAC website.
