The cast of King Kong present charity concert, Together We Stand

The Australian musical theatre is extraordinarily generous, and the cast of King Kong is no exception. Cast member Josh Robson has organised a charity concert featuring his fellow castmembers, with all proceeds going towards Mission Australia.

Robson said “I approached the cast with the idea of giving up some of their time during eight show weeks to rehearse dance numbers and songs for the concert.

“We had over 20 members from our company who answered with a resounding ‘yes’.”

The cast will sing and dance to music theatre and pop song, accompanied by a live band. It’s slated to be two hours of pure musical entertainment – and if that wasn’t enough for you, the show will be hosted by internationally renowned musical therapist Jan Van de Stool (also known as musical theatre star Queenie Van De Zandt).

Mission Australia are, Robson says, “an organisation that works with providing skills and services to the homeless that enable them to remain self-sufficient.”

They would love to sell out their 400 seats at Ormond Hall in Village Melbourne, so go along and check out some immense talent on January 19th 2014 at 8pm. Tickets are available at www.villagemelbourne.com.au/whatson

Still not sure? Check out the video below of the cast performing “Big Spender” at last year’s Twisted Broadway in Melbourne.
