Moonshadow edges closer to opening

Written by Yusuf Islam (formerly Cat Stevens), Moonshadow is a fantastical story of another world which weaves the music of Cat Stevens into a story of love and hope, opening at the Princess Theatre on May 31 this year.

The World Premiere cast of Moonshadow are currently rehearsing at Broken Mirror studios in Melbourne, with Yusuf and his creative team, and AussieTheatre’s Matt Edwards caught up with them at a media launch this week.

While Matt is busy working on our interview package, we thought we’d show you some of the promotional material produced by the Moonshadow team for a taste of what’s to come.

Moonshadow will be the second world premiere musical opening in Australia in May, with GFO’s An Officer and a Gentleman opening at the Lyric Theatre, The Star (Sydney) on May 18.

The video below features Cat Steven’s classic hit song ‘First cut is the Deepest’ sung by leading actress, Gemma-Ashley Kaplan.
