The debate rages on about Melbourne V Sydney as a ‘theatre capital’… however, bickering aside, WAR HORSE coming to Australia is pretty exciting!

I know many of you tipped Melbourne Theatre Company to present this play, but it seems Global Creatures are (once again) bringing the animals to life.

What are your thoughts on War Horse?

It will definitely be the best show of all descriptions, on any stage in Australia next year. That is my thoughts on it Erin <!– s:P –><!– s:P –>

It is possibly the only stage large enough to put it on on. However I will definitely have to pay big money to get a close to stage seat. At the New London Theatre the audience is close to the stage and it is very intimate. It possibly would have been better at the Merlin Theatre at the Malthouse, since it would be intimate there, and the stage can be put anywhere and any size they want in that space.
That aside I am over the moon it is coming here! It is possibly the best that theatre can be.

Yes, well Melbourne does prefer its theatre to have class .

Do we know how long the engagement will be, or if it will be touring?

Not yet – but I think we can at least guess that since there was no mention of "Melbourne Only" in the announcement (as there has been for King Kong) and "Sydney Only" (for Richard III) recently, there is at least the possibility of a tour.

Anything is possible though! <!– s:) –><!– s:) –>
