Beautiful: The Carole King Musical
Currently Playing - Melbourne
Beautiful: The Carole King Musical opened at the Lyric Theatre at The Star, Sydney on 23 September 2017 and is currently playing in Melbourne. The production will move to QPAC, Brisbane following Melbourne
Starring Esther Hannaford, Josh Piterman, Lucy Maunder and Matt Verevis.

Currently Playing - Perth (then Melbourne & Adelaide)
The six city tour commenced in November 2017 at the Canberra Theatre Centre.
The production then moved to the Lyric Theatre, QPAC in Brisbane before playing the other major tour cities on the live performance circuit in 2018, including Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.

The Book of Mormon
Currently Playing - Sydney
The Book of Mormon opened at the Princess Theatre Melbourne on January 2017 before moving to Sydney.
The brain child of South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker with Robert Lopez and has played to sold out audiences on Broadway since opening in 2011.

Priscilla The Musical
Currently Playing Sydney - Then Adelaide and Brisbane
10 years after Priscilla Queen of the Desert had its world premiere at the Sydney Lyric theatre, producer Michael Cassel announced that the musical would return to Australia in 2018.
The production opened in Melbourne at The Regent Theatre before heading to the Capitol Theatre Sydney

The Wizard of Oz
Currently Playing Melbourne
The Wizard of Oz opened in Brisbane in November, 2017 the production continued to Sydney in December before heading to Melbourne and Adelaide in 2018.
Anthony Warlow leads the cast as The Wizard and Professor Marvel joined by WICKED witches Lucy Durack and Jemma Rix.

Next Season - Perth July 2018
Disney Theatrical’s Aladdin opened at Sydney’s Capitol Theatre in August 2016.
Starring newcomer Ainsley Melham making his mainstage debut in the titular role and 2017 QLD Con graduate Shubshri Kandih as Jasmine.
The production has recently closed in Brisbane and will open in Perth in July 2018, the final city in the current Australian tour.

The Rocky Horror Show
Opening Melbourne - July
The Rocky Horror Show returned to Australia in 2018 and toured to Adelaide, Brisbane, and Perth starring Adam Rennie as Frank n Furter.
The production will head to Her Majesty’s Theatre in Melbourne in July 2018 with Todd McKenney as Frank n Furter and Shane Jacobson as the Narrator.
Also starring Amanda Harrison, Rob Mallett, Michelle Smitheram, Brendan Irving and Nadia Komazec.

Commencing September 2018 - Sydney Opera House
A co-production of GFO and Opera Australia Evita will open at the Sydney Opera House in September 2018 and Arts Centre Melbourne from December 5.
Tina Arena has been confirmed to play Eva Peron and will be joined by Paulo Szot as Perón and Kurt Kansley as Che. Read more on the Full Cast Announcement.
Commencing September 2018 - Sydney
After a critically and commercially acclaimed season in Melbourne which opened in July 2009, Jersey Boys played Sydney’s Theatre Royal for 15 months before touring to Brisbane, Adelaide and Auckland and returning to Melbourne.
Muriel's Wedding - The Musical
Returning to Sydney - June 2019
Sydney Theatre Company and Global Creatures have come together for one of the more exciting announcements we’ve heard in a while: a brand new Australian musical based on a beloved Aussie film. The world premiere season of Muriel’s Wedding the Musical opened in November 2017 and will return to Sydney’s Lyric Theatre in June 2019.
Directed by Simon Phillips with music and lyrics by Kate Miller-Heidke and Keir Nuttall (and ABBA!).

The hit show, which will premiere at Her Majesty’s Theatre Melbourne from October 2018, has been playing to packed houses since its Broadway debut in 2015 and is now captivating audiences all across the US and in London’s West End.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Opening Sydney 2019
Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory the Musical, will open at Sydney’s Capitol Theatre in January 2019.
Produced by John Frost, Craig Donnell, Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures, Langley Park Productions and Neal Street Productions in Australia, the musical has already enjoyed previous seasons on Broadway and The West End.

At the centre of this world are star-crossed lovers Wade “Cry-Baby” Walker – the coolest boy in Baltimore – and his rich but square object of desire, Allison. Cry-Baby is a bad boy with a great cause – truth, justice and the pursuit of rock and roll – so, fueled by hormones and the new rhythms of popular music, Allison turns her back on her King-of-the-Squares boyfriend Baldwin to become a ‘Drape’, and Cry-Baby’s girl. The stage is set for a pitched battle between the squeaky-clean, close-harmony Squares and the rock-and-roll juvenile delinquent Drapes.

The iconic Australian musical, The Boy from Oz turns 20 in 2018, and to celebrate we are staging a new production. Rohan Browne, (Singin’ in The Rain, Brigadoon) stars as Peter Allen, and Caroline O’Connor (Funny Girl, Anastasia (Broadway) and The Rink (London)) returns to The Production Company for the role of Judy Garland. Matthew Manahan (Brigadoon) will play Greg Connell.

Maraczek’s Parfumerie, 1930s Eastern Europe. Head clerk Georg Nowack and the newest employee Amalia Balash are in love – just not with each other. In fact you could say that it was loathe at first sight. Each is engaged in a passionate and anonymous correspondence with a ‘Dear Friend’ who they are yet to meet. But it’s not just Georg and Amalia who are dealing with relationship problems. Cashier Ilona Ritter is finding her boyfriend and co-worker Stephen Kodaly a less than reliable lover; owner Mr Maraczek has received some disturbing news about his wife; clerk Ladislov Sipos will do anything to keep his job; and delivery boy Arpad has greater ambitions for his future.

Perhaps its just that everyone WANTS it to come, but persistent rumours of an Australian production of Newsies continue to circulate. During his stint in Australia for South Pacific in 2012, Tony Award winning choreographer Christopher Gattelli joked that he would love to bring the production to Australia – so we’ve got that going for us at least! Now to find a theatre…
