A long weekend at the Bowl with two new shows announced

The March long weekend just got a whole lot more exciting as Live at the Bowl welcomes the feel-good splendour of The Cat Empire and some family fun with Justine Clarke, Jimmy Giggle, Dan Sultan and Pevan & Sarah from 6 – 7 March.

Hometown festival favourites The Cat Empire are back after the longest absence from a Melbourne stage in their career. The Live at the Bowl show on Saturday 6 March will be their first Melbourne performance in over a year and they could not be happier to be back.

After the year that’s been, and what it’s meant for live music, we’re truly excited to get back on stage in the heart of the city that raised us. The Cat Empire has always thrived on the live experience; the Sidney Myer Music Bowl show promises to be a real homecoming, says The Cat Empire’s front man Felix Riebl.

Audiences can expect The Cat Empire’s all-genre-embracing anthems, high-energy performance and sounds to elevate the spirit. This joyful performance will be the perfect soundtrack for a night under the stars.

Supporting The Cat Empire will be “the high priestess of Melbourne soul” (The Music) Kylie Auldist who released a brand new album in November last year called This Is What Happiness Looks Like.

Families and children can also join in the fun with their favourite ABC Kids stars from 6 – 7 March. This one-off weekend event will feature Justine Clarke, Jimmy Giggle, Dan Sultan and Pevan & Sarah as part of Kids at the Bowl.

In four shows only, Australia’s top children’s entertainers will perform a selection of their greatest hits in an all-singing, all-dancing, all-laughing hour of fun! There are very limited tickets available for the family shows so get in quick.

These March long weekend shows are presented in partnership with City of Melbourne.

Tickets will go on sale from 12pm, Friday 19 February via liveatthebowl.com.au

We’re excited to be welcoming visitors back to our venues in line with the most recent Victorian Government guidelines on COVID-19. We have opened our outdoor café Protagonist, the Sunday Markets as well as the Australian Music Vault. These openings coincided with the Live at the Bowl season, which officially kicked off on 8 January 2021.

While the ghost lights will stay on a little longer inside our venues, we will continue to offer audiences the chance to experience the wonder of the performing arts via our digital hub – Together With You.
