This winter, Disney on Ice brings the blockbuster family favourite Frozen to life where it should be – on ice. The beloved animated characters Elsa, Anna, Olaf, Kristoff and Sven, will be performed by world class ice skating professionals, as they dance on ice to hit songs from the movie including “Let It Go”, “Do you Want to Build A Snowman”, “Summer”, and “For the First Time In Forever”.

In celebration, a lucky few children and their parents were invited to Acacia Ridge’s Iceworld for an ice-skating session and morning tea last week.

Amongst the guests were many fabulous, sparkly costumes (I’ve never seen so many Elsa’s in one place), and children excited to meet Elsa and her friends. There were photo opportunities and plenty of Frozen songs to sing along to as they carved up the ice on the rink, complete with disco lighting to add to the atmosphere.

A local ice-skating team, who will be presenting a pre-show performance at Disney on ice presents Frozen, were there mingling with everyone – it was very sweet to see them help out the smaller, newer skaters. There were many children there who ‘let it go’ and hit the ice for the first time that day, providing many moments of joy and pink-cheeked cuteness. After an hour or so of skating, a Frozen themed morning tea was provided, along with activities and goody bags. If their joyous little faces were anything to go by, the production will be an enchanting visual spectacular as they see their favourite characters live.

Hosted by Mickey and Minnie, the 120-minute live musical will also feature special guest appearances from some of Disney’s princesses, as well as characters from Toy Story, Finding Nemo, and The Lion King.

Disney on Ice presents Frozen will play at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre from 29 June – 2 July. For more information visit the Disney on Ice website.
