Inspired by the works of Shakespeare and the marvellous words of poet, Jelaluddin Rumi. In the Slaughterhouse of Love: Romeo and Juliet is a production of love, obsession and passion with a slightly witty twist.
Performed as part of The Sydney Fringe 2010, this production also includes original music by composers Thomas Brennan and Daniel Curtis.
Under the Direction of Erica J Brennan, the cast of ten invites the audience to experience a production that is bound to make you fall in love again with the classic, ageless love story of Romeo and Juliet.
With a brilliant performance from its actors guaranteed, it invites an audience to engage in Shakespeare’s words in a different way to which you have read them countless times before.
“For many years I have wanted to create a production of Romeo and Juliet which focuses almost exclusively on engaging with the depth, beauty and violence of the many degrees of love. I wanted to create a work that opened up the possibility for an audience to by-pass an intellectual response to their love and instead rejoice in the feeling of it,” said Ms Brennan.
