George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion live, online Sunday 15 Aug 2pm

Does the rain in Spain fall mainly in the plain? Not if George Bernard Shaw has anything to do with it!

Catch Streamed Shakespeare’s one-time-only staged reading performance on Sunday 15 August from 2 pm AEST, of Holly Champion’s brand new, funny and postmodern adaptation of Shaw’s classic, PYGMALION!

The COVID-19 pandemic may have shuttered theatres worldwide, but as P.T. Barnum said:

The show must go on!

Streamed Shakespeare exemplifies this proverb through the innovative use of digital resources, local talent, and good old Aussie know-how. Our community of theatre professionals regularly presents some of The Bard’s best-loved works to the world as fully realised stage productions or dramatic readings. With nigh on a score of productions, roundtable discussions, school performances and education sessions through 2020-21, the company has garned a huge online audience throughout Australia and internationally. Now during the latest lockdown the company branches out – by George! – into the witty, thoughtful classic George Bernard Shaw play that inspired the timeless musical My Fair Lady. But what will the playwright say about the liberties that have been taken??
