Making History: Nancye Hayes at The Hayes in Beyond Desire

Tonight, at a little venue in Potts Point, Sydney, history will be made. And I believe it’s cause for celebration.

The world premiere of Beyond Desire, a new musical written by Neil Rutherford (international casting director, performer, director, writer and musician) and Kieran Drury (composer) opens at the Hayes Theatre with a small, yet fiercely dynamic cast. This in itself is a huge deal and I am currently waving flags and throwing streamers in anticipation: a brand new musical opening in one of the most exciting venues in Australia is certainly cause for excitement. But what is perhaps even more exciting is that Nancye Hayes, one of Australia’s iconic and most loved music theatre performers will step onto the stage named for her, for the first time.

Nancye Hayes AT THE HAYES!

This is perhaps the greatest cause for celebration and if you haven’t already booked your tickets for Beyond Desire, DO IT NOW before they all sell out and you spend the rest of your musical theatre-watching days wishing you’d seen Nancye Hayes’ debut season at the Hayes Theatre.

Beyond Desire premieres tonight at the Hayes Theatre Company at plays until Sunday 14 December.
