One Flew Over The Cuckoo's NestWire, briar, limber lock,Three geese in a flock. One flew east,And one flew west,And one flew over the cuckoo’s nest…  This November, Melbourne’s Human Sacrifice Theatre presents the Tony Award Winning play One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest in the Chapel Theatre at Chapel Off Chapel.  Opening on November 24, this exuberant, boisterous and devastatingly honest portrayal of the boundaries between sanity and madness boast a multicultural all-star cast the production will be directed by David Myles and star Mark Diaco as Randall P McMurphy (the character made famous by Jack Nicholson in the 1975 film of the same name).
One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest is a comically sharp indictment of the Establishment urge to conform and reveals that escape is always possible, even from the most oppressive conditions. Energetic, coarse, and ultimately disturbing, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest is the unforgettable story of a psychiatric hospital and its residents, who have been diagnosed with a range of conditions and subjected to terrifying treatments and techniques. In a world where sanity means conformity and following the rules is the only way to survive; this play is a powerful exploration of the delight and danger of being original. Randall P McMurphy is a misbehaved maverick who finds himself in an asylum after faking insanity to avoid prison. From the beginning, the vivacious troublemaker challenges the coldly controlling head nurse in the ward, Nurse Ratched, and attempts to replace the power of authority with the power of chaos. Drama develops as Ratched and McMurphy battle for supremacy on the ward. McMurphy reaches out to his new inmates, trying to inject life into the ward’s numbness.
