Lovers of short theatre are set to be catered for with a presentation of four plays at Theatre Works in Melbourne later this month.
You is being produced by Seedbox Theatre, a Melbourne based group of artists who want to engage, inspire, challenge and entertain while creating opportunities for emerging artists to showcase their talents.
The plays on show later this month include:
Ten million pieces of my heart – Eva and “Suitcase” used to be in love. But not anymore. There’s ten million pieces of the puzzle to fit together – and Suitcase is about to text them all to Eva. In reverse. The story of a relationship told backwards – through the text messages they sent. Cast: Tania Knight, Matthew Coote.
Saturday Night Newtown, Sunday Morning Enmore – Claire wakes up on Sunday morning next to Matthew, who is definitely “not her type”. Her memories of the night before are hazy, to say the least, and she tries to leave quickly; but Matthew has another solution. Cast: Claire Lilian, Benjamin Rigby
The Actress’ Dilemma – The theatre’s empty, the actress is late and the director is well, barmy. Just another audition really – but how far is too far? A wild, unpredictable comedy for anybody who’s ever had to audition – and anybody who hasn’t. Cast: Nichola Jayne, Mike Anthony Sheehy.
You – In a full circle of desire and rejection, Walter wants to be with Alice, who obsesses over Strang, who shudders to think of it and pursues Dominic, who thinks he wants Deborah, who, of course, focuses on Walter! Cast: Anders Gamboni, Claire Lillian, Mike Anthony Sheehy, Micheal Fenemore-Cocks, Nichola Jayne.
You plays at Theatre Works from May 26 until May 29. Bookings: (03) 9534 3388.
