The wait is nearly over – within the next 48 hours, the AT team will be launching the new-look AussieTheatre.com which features a new colour scheme, new logo and much more!

What you will see when you visit aussietheatre.com later this week will be the first version of our new site, so we apologise if there are a few minor bugs. I would like to ask you all to please be patient – our developer (the wonderful Matt Edwards) has been working around the clock to nut out any issues we have already anticipated, so hopefully the bugs will be minimal. The beauty of having a brand new custom-built site (and a web developer in the office) is that we can fix any little problems immediately.

Thank you all so much for your patience over the last few months – we have been planning this update since March last year and have been splitting our time between the current working site and the new one. I think that the work has paid off, and I trust you will like our update as much as we do.

Search BarOnce the new site is up and running, myself and Matt Edwards will be creating information packages about how to use various sections of the site. We hope these will help you navigate your way around, but until then, take some time to familiarise yourselves with the new sections:

The Home Page will include a “featured” slider, with up to 5 articles featured at a time, latest news, features and blog posts as well as latest reviews.

Each article will also feature an ‘about the author’ box, related posts, topics (tags), a comment system, floating social media sharing options and recommended reading.

There will be a brand new ‘What’s On’ section which is easy to use and much cleaner than our old Theatre Guide.

A Theatre Jobs section will include all auditions, backstage jobs, management positions that become available in the industry, and are able to be posted by companies across the country.

About the Author

As you can see from the sneak peek snapshots included here, we have moved away from the green colour scheme – even the forums are now blue!

On that note, the forums have been successfully transferred to the new version of the site, so hopefully there will be no disruption to all the discussions taking place.

So, without further ado, I will leave you with this:  The new-look AussieTheatre will begin a new era in online theatrical news, reviews, events, and discussion. The site will continue to grow (we have PLENTY of exiting new features in store) and we believe that we have been changed FOR GOOD.

AussieTheatre – where it’s AT!
