‘I don’t want realism. I want magic!’

Gillian Anderson (The X-Files, The Fall, Sex Education) plays Blanche DuBois with Ben Foster (Lone Survivor, Kill Your Darlings) as Stanley and Vanessa Kirby (The Crown, Mission Impossible 7) as Stella.

This acclaimed production, directed by Benedict Andrews, was captured live at the Young Vic in 2014 by National Theatre Live. You can watch it on the National Theatre’s YouTube channel from Friday 22nd May for one week.

As Blanche’s fragile world crumbles, she turns to her sister Stella for solace – but her downward spiral brings her face to face with the brutal, unforgiving Stanley Kowalski.

Gabi Bergman is a Melbourne-based performer and educator, and is the current Deputy Editor-in-Chief of AussieTheatre.com. She holds a Double Arts degree in Theatre Studies and Film/Screen Studies and a Master of Teaching (Secondary Education).
