What Dreams are made of

The Q Theatre in Penrith is launching a new project that will give local people with disabilities the opportunity to reach their true creative potential.

‘The Dream Project’ will be launched next week and the Q Theatre is inviting people with disabilities in the Penrith, Blue Mountains and Hawkesbury regions to get involved.

The project will take place over the next year, culminating in a special production in 2011.

The idea was conceived by theatre director, Alison Richardson, who has worked extensively as a drama tutor/director for various disability services and for community theatre companies including Powerhouse Youth Theatre, Shopfront Theatre, PACT Theatre, and Australian Theatre For Young People.

Ms Richardson is currently researching and developing ideas for this project with the disabled community in the region.

If you are someone who has a disability, you are invited to go along and participate in, or observe, a free acting class facilitated by Ms Richardson on Friday, December 11.

The class will then be followed by morning tea where interested participants can discuss ideas for The Dream Project.
